Yesterday was Asher's oldest brother's birthday. Alex turned a whopping 11 years old. For his birthday he was allowed to call his grandmother on his dad's side. *Side note- They don't know much about their mom's side of the family if she even has any family at all.
When Alex dialed the number, rather than his grandma picking up, his dad answered in stead. Technically they are not allowed to have communication right now but it was an accident for sure. Everyone thought Grandma was in WY and mom and dad were in Kansas.
Alex asked his dad where he was and found out he, mom and grandma were all living in Illinois with the Aunt. He said they'd been there for 3 weeks.
I don't know what this means for our chances of keeping Asher but it can only help. There is a stronger argument now that the aunt (who I honestly feel means well) is likely to hand Asher to his biological parents if she gains custody of him.
The miracle of the whole thing was I had just attended a session in the temple and prayed that the Lord would bring my soul some peace. I felt Asher was mine but all the ups and downs were making it hard on me and I just needed some comfort and peace. Well, not an hour later He answered that prayer. It's long from over but I do feel hope again.
