Alpine Reunion

For the last 20 some odd years the Johnson family has congregated at the Alpine 4-H Camp in Wyoming to host their annual Johnson reunion. It really is a good time had by all. Each year it rotates to a new family to plan. This year's theme was Wild Wild West.

The Lodge
Every Thursday night there is a bonfire with smores, cobbler and camp songs. Asher was having a rough time getting to sleep with all the hooting and hollering. I love when he'll let me rock him to sleep. He always reaches up and touches my face.

Friday is a jam packed day of volleyball with the uncles and cousins, crafts, field games, zip line, tether ball, horse shoe tournament, the woman's retreat, program and dance.

My first year not playing volleyball, but I watched with Asher it was almost as good.
Lane teaching the kids how to rope 'em up

Grandma Cliffie and Logan playing a game. Logan was really good! ;)

One of the many really neat crafts. Making stick horses

This year someone even brought a mechanical bull! The seat was super slick and I couldn't stay one very well

Even Asher was getting in the cowboy spirit. Have I ever said how much I am totally smitten by this handsome fella?

One of my favorites, The Woman's Retreat. So much fun. Love my in laws.

Best part of the reunion was when Kurt finally arrived. It was nice to trade off a bit with Asher since my arms were getting sore.

After the reunion Kurt asked if we could take a little detour of a road trip Sunday after church to see his old college stomping grounds in Ricks and then wonder over to Jackson WY to gaze upon the Tetons yet again. Next year I think we're going to just splurge and have him get a guide and climb the Grand. He really needs to check that one off his list.

Glad to be home but had a great time. Now to get back on some kind of schedule.
